SACHHI WOMEN Home Improvements is very proud to provide a non-profit extension of its company through a training program for women in recovery, and women with disabilities seeking careers within the home improvement trade and sewing design industry.   

Our mission during this time is also to provide employment and a safe, working, and fun environment for women already professionally skilled in the home improvement and construction trade industry, ​while ensuring the security and confidence of new hires and training participants as they become qualified enough to become full-time employees at SACHHI WOMEN Home Improvements or SACHHI Design & Couture.

Our two twenty-week training programs will begin in January 2026 and run through May 2026.

 

HOME IMPROVEMENTS

The home improvement session of this program will include trainees learning safety, trade terminology, trade math, and core hands-on fundamental skills in exterior/interior painting, wood replacement/installation, drywall installation and repair, ceramic tiling, and bathtub shower area renovations and conversions.

SEWING & FASHION DESIGN

The sewing and design side of the training program will include trainees learning machine and serger operations, sewing terminology, textiles, hand and machine sewing knowledge. 

Trainees will be able to perfect their sewing skills, making various products and garments, and providing clothing alterations for SACHHI Design & Couture clients. 

Each trainee will participate in designing a complete Fashion showcase collection 

that will be presented at the

SACHHI WOMEN Skills - Build - Empower

Thunder Over Louisville Travel Tour and Fashion Show

event at the Hotel Louisville in Louisville, KY on

April 17, 2026.

 

 

​​SACHHI WOMEN  Skills -  Build - Empower is seeking financial sponsors, in-kind sponsorships, Crowdfunding partners, and donations for 20 local women to participate in the two (2)

20-week home improvement and/or sewing and design training programs. 

Training Days:  Tues. - Thurs.     Time:  8 am - 3 pm

​Toward the end of the home improvement segment of the training program, our trainees will spend 4 weeks providing the home improvement skills they have learned to offer community services to local and regional veterans, disabled and elderly homeowners. 

Training participants who complete the programs will be afforded the opportunity for full-time employment with

SACHHI WOMEN Home Improvements or SACHHI Design & Couture.

 Executive Director, Denise Sparks's vision has come to fruition.

She co-founded Sparks A.C.- Heat & Home Improvements (SACHHI) in Charlotte, NC, in 1999 and is certified in HVAC-R with hands-on skills in residential home repair, commercial up-fit, fire and water damage restoration.  

For over twenty-five years, Denise Sparks has trained hundreds of women and men within the home improvement and fashion design industries. 

​

Her community service and philanthropy have been recognized through a Proclamation from the City of Louisville KY, a Business Achievement Award by the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Club - Charlotte, The Healing Place Women's Center.  Denise was named Woman of the Year by the American Businesswomen's Association - Charlotte Chapter and was called Charlotte's Designing Woman by the Charlotte Post Newspaper.
